In Hindi Poetry, there is absolutely nothing magical like what Harivansh Rai Bachhan has written…The song like character and the depth of feelings and experience expressed in such a simple way is something that very few poets have been able to do so consistently… I will try to include some of those bits and pieces here!!
“Jo kshmaa nahi kar sakte the meri kuchh durbaltaao.N ko
Jo sadaa dekhte rehte the un mei.N apne hi daavo.N ko
Meraa durbaltaa se oopar, uthne ka vrat unkaa prasaad
Unke prati mera dhanyavaad!!”
One of bachhan’s many poems, which at the face of it, highlights his “hardcore pessimistic” approach to life is Jo Beet gayi, so baat gai!!see if u agree with him…:)
